Platinum Adventures Club


Looking for Adventures? You've come to the right place as we offer the Platinum Adventures Club to customers who are at least 50 years old and maintain at least $5,000 in deposits.  Although it is not a requirement, we hope that you also maintain an active checking account*.

The Platinum Adventures Club is perfect for you if you like museums, theaters, out-of-town excursions, etc.  We do all the planning; you choose which events you want to go on.  There is no annual fee and you only pay for events you wish to participate in.  Some of our events are FREE too!

Chicago Dine Around Progressive Dining Tour
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Join us as we embark on a culinary adventure to three of Chicago’s finest restaurants during this Progressive Dining Tour. You will be chauffeured around the city in style as our on board tour guide enhances your city experience. You will enjoy appetizers at Quartinos, our main course at Tuscany’s and dessert at Riva’s on Navy Pier. Two alcoholic beverages are included in the price for this exciting evening!

The McCormick Freedom Museum, “The Donald’s” Condo Tour and Lunch at “16”
Thursday, October 30th, 2008

The McCormick Freedom Museum is the nation’s first museum dedicated to freedom and the First Amendment. Gain a greater understanding of the struggle for freedom in the United States and the role that the First Amendment plays in our daily lives and will play in the lives of future generations. From the museum we will proceed to the Trump Hotel and Tower where we will lunch at “16”, a restaurant on the 16th floor with fabulous views. You can chose from a steak sandwich, a cobb salad or roasted salmon. After lunch, we will tour the model condo in the Tower. Be prepared for the urge to redecorate when you get home!

Become a Floral Designer for an Afternoon

How many of us have looked at a vase of flowers arranged perfectly and said to ourselves “I wish I could do that”. Well, now you can. With the help of Barb Hausheer, owner of Morning Glory Flowers in Wilmette and Glenview, you will create a beautiful fall arrangement to take home. All supplies will be provided including desserts and beverages.
Cost: $25.00
Time: 1:30 -3:30 pm.

Afternoon Tea with Barbara Rinella
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Please join us for a relaxing afternoon of High Tea (including: assorted scones, finger sandwiches and pastries) in the tranquil setting of Sunset Ridge Country Club. Following tea, Barbara Rinella will dramatize “The Boleyn Inheritance” by Philippa Gregory, a wonderful historical fiction. Barbara will bring to life three important women in history. First she will become the maligned Anne of Cleves, who struggles to remain Queen as she watches her 50-year-old husband become infatuated with her 14-year-old Lady-in-Waiting, Katherine Howard. Next, flirtatious Kitty Howard will be portrayed. Jane Boleyn, is the last to be dramatized. She played a part in sending her husband and his sister, Queen Anne, to their deaths. You will be expected to do a proper bow or curtsy! Transportation is on your own to this event.

Extended Trips Preview:  Alaska & a Cruise Down the Danube

We have some wonderful trips planned for 2009! We will explore Alaska on July 9th -21st, riding on the Fairbanks Stern Wheeler, discovering Denali National Park, taking a ride on the Denali Express Rail Car and enjoying a balcony cabin aboard ship as we cruise to College Fjord, Glacier Bay, Skagway and Ketchikan.

From September 12th – 23rd, we will be cruising down the Blue Danube in a luxurious cabin on the MS AMADEUS ROYAL. We will start in Munich and proceed to Vienna, Budapest, Hungary, Slovakia, ending Germany We’ll stop at towns along our route for tours to places of interest or just to soak up the local culture. We will also board a motor coach to Prague where we will spend 3 nights before returning home.

Join us for our preview of our trips where the itineraries will be examined in detail and all your questions will be answered. Refreshments will be served.
